| Never in my life time can I recall when
in America such a group of perverted,
mind altered, psycopaths have ever
gained greater influence and control of the American Government as have the
Christian Right. As a former Christian having been absorbed since birth in Catholism and later Protestantism
I realized near my twenty first birthday
that I couldn't accept either religious
concept.
As a former Christian I have diszoned myself from any and all of the insane practices of Catholics and Protestents. Not that the Christ figure isn't an admirable example of moral human conduct, but isn't it just too convenient for a Roman emperor to adopt a religious philosophy of passivism for his countrymen, while he retains his brutal pagan beliefs. Christianity was the perfect assertion of passivity as opposed to Roman polytheism which encouraged the Romans to brutalize and militarily conquer and control the entire known world and crucifying the founder and early leaders of the Christian religion. Three hundred years after the death of Christ and countless christian martyrs the Emperor Constantine recognized the growing power of the idealism of Christians as they were slaughtered in martyrdom by the thousands, for the amusement of the blood thirsty Roman crowds at the Circus Maximus. He must of marveled at the mindset that made these people so passive and pathetically weak, as one could only expect would be the perception of a Roman emperor. The teachings of Christ as I have digested them over the many years seem hardly to be radical from a present perspective, unless the simple act of human compassion and a concern for one's fellow human being is to be considered radical. Christ merely gave simple hope to the poor and wretched people of his time. He told them that life was simply a way station that all must pass through on the eternal journey of the spirit. Christ gave hope to the hopeless, healing to the sick. He was a man of compassion yet was considered a threat and a heretic to those of his own Judaic faith. Misanthropy is a prevailing evil throughout American society, but never has it been more obvious and more destructive than in the contrarian hands of the American Christian Right. This lunatic fringe of American society are preyed upon and manipulated by insidious evangelists, preachers and priests, preditory politicians and every patriotic promoter of militaristic nationalism and the better and stronger than anyone American spirit. People of the far right are the most vulnerable, the most ignorant , the most disenfranchised. members of American Society. So many are poorly educated and can not or will not think for themselves . They have been conditioned for their entire lives to be a good Baptist or Methodist or Catholic or a Republican, Democrat or farmer or mill worker or whatever they are. The concepts and politics of global humanitarianism mingled with modern science, art the truthful revelations brought about by modern communications and global networks has torn away all the veils of deception that so well conceiled the the truth with historical falacies and fear. Their fear is what creates their hatred, their need of a personal savior for their confused condition Someone who will love them regardless of their moral faults. "Praise the lord and he will forgive all your sins." " Look down upon the wicked you are the sons and daughters of God so you can do no wrong on this earth." They believe this and they flock to their Sunday services and pray for G.W. Bush to guide them. These helpless and hapless members of the American Society are isolated by their growing degrees of anger, desparation, isolation, ignorance and total indoctrination of a consumer nationalism by their schools and media, their priests and ministers, teachers and trusted friends who all encourage their own flawed self righteousness and chovanistic pride. How easy it is to persuade these Americans to follow any leader who promises them something better for themselves and their children, by claiming easy , simple solutions to major problems through simple language such as war, money, lack of money, evil, bad, and demonizing other words such as liberal, left, secular, humanism, environmentalist. Their leaders serve them only by taking from these simple believers and steal all they have and theaten their future generation with war, taxes poverty and pollution. An abused child or spouse often developes the beliefs that the abuser imposes upon them and accepts the abuse as part of their lives, and their pain and confusion as their fate that they must stoically tolerate, embrace,defend , exalt and emulate and their beliefs can only be changed by their Christian God . Their lives are to be considered blessed and better than anyone elses in the world because G.W. Bush says it is and all of his friends are rich, and he says if we believe in his leadership we will all be like him. This is the American Myth embedded in the minds of the Christian Right and Conservative Republicans.Unless they are stopped our nation and many others will be inevitably ruined as their horrid Apocalyptic prophecy becomes self- fullfilling.
